Trade My Heart

I’d like to trade my heart in
For a newer model
The latest, updated vision
With a built in throttle
A shiny piece of craftsmanship
Stocked with all the options
An upgrade from the usual
Worn out concoctions
A model placed with chrome wheels
That is envious to all
One that can simply ride away
Whenever it feels the call
A heart that’s in my budget
That’s kinda easy on the gas
One that has the power
On life’s interstate to pass
Oh give me something good
For my used trade
And let me drive away
Before this dream fades
