All such cliches with your excuses in my ear from my phone in my hand,
which felt like the taroc card of Death.

Talk about reading between the lines! Unique write. I think you mean Tarot cards in the last line.
Not sure if you menat lovers tarmac or lovers tarot above.
Good write, just needs some tweaking.
