I've finally discovered the reason,
To why I cut up my arm.
She'e the spawn of all my pain,
It's because of her I'm caught up in self harm.
She doesn't realize her every movement,
Makes me itch and squirm inside.
I wish I could escape this maternal hell,
From her I wish I could hide.
No matter where I run she'll find me,
Though the blood's spilling she's there.
Not to stop me, but to provoke me,
She's filled with hatred, not care.
I use my blade to drown her out,
Hoping with the blood she'll flow away.
Always screaming, always knowing,
Tomorrow's a new hell filled day.
She's witnessed the pain I've endured,
And never did a damn thing to make it end.
Now she see's my battle wounds,
And again, she won't help me mend.
This is a hurt only a mother could do,
So much anger and bottled up feelings within.
The only way to make her fade,
Is to scratch away the maternity from my skin.

i liked the second stanza... it sounded like and unborn baby's point of view while in the womb, with the movements in such... I don't know if thats what you were going for there or even in the whole poem, but thats what I got from it... |

good poem, and flow. i get bored easily and this poem made me want to read it until the end.
if this is what you are going through, i'm sorry. i used to feel "looked over" and loved less than others. its the worst feeling, my faith saved my life. i hope this poem is from the past, if not...i'll pray for you.

Ok, I have 3 views on this. 1 I had parents who I wanted to just leave me alone and stop bugging and doing whatever parents do so I understand. 2 I lost my mother when I was 13 so I also have the view that most people don't appreciate the fact that they have a mother no matter how bad they are. And 3 I am now a mother and I know that I do and will try my best to be a great mother so cut her some slack. If she IS that horrible then know that there is more to life than her and you can start your own when the time is right and move on from her and be happy. You shouldn't hurt yourself or end your life because it's rough now because of her. One day you will not have to deal with her anymore and you will see that it wasn't worth it (that she wasn't worth it). Good write though. |
