all i need are my memories,
to hold me close,
as i cry myself to sleep.
my glass eyes,
float blissfully,
through every moment,
past and present.
clinging to all i can,
my deaf ears,
savor every sound,
as if ive never heard.
my strangled throat,
gasps for the breath,
to finally whisper,
"im sorry".
as i stand in line for execution,
the blade severs so rough,
with my last thought, i realize,
memories arent enough.
