Can you hear the screams...
Of a land of innocence drowning in their own tears?
Do you see the girl alone in the corner...
Who was shunned into silence by her peers.
Do you remember the stories...
Of the night monsters who by closet came?
Or do you hear the news report..
Of the killer that knows your name.
Can you hear the blast of weapons...
Preaching the hateful gospel of war?
Or do you see the dictator admonish...
Saying their god isn't here anymore.
Do you live in a world full of horrible things...
That make you live a life you despise.
Or do you choose to forget...
And thrive on happy lies.
Have you ever seen the world through a child's eyes?
Forget the stories and realize...
That the sadness here once smiled.
Only when you see through the eyes of a child.
