Circumvent

Contributed by weepingprophet on Tuesday, 5th July 2005 @ 05:46:32 PM in AEST
Topic: obsession

how many times have i read those words
that empty set of conception
this is the life we are sworn over
you and i

your stuttered hello
six weeks of unanswered prayers
and i'm sent to you in dreams you say
mailed to you in an envelope
almost sentenced to your hearts oblivion

i haven't been waiting for you, sleepless
i haven't been kneeling down
your name fresh on my lips
i am silent for you

you beleive that when i answer your call
infinity will unfurl and i'll forget
the ease of which you let me slip
the surrender of your hand on hers
and i'll accept you, scarred wrist
i am not abandonned, not misplaced
you swear the eternal battle is unnecessary

you ask for trust as though it is alive in me
waiting for your voice to beckon it out
to serve it to you warm with forgiveness
but you are lies

the ease of which you let me slip

and in the shower with the blade
you're not the only one with another lover

the ease in which i slip
to the infatuation that i left for you
you've been replaced
with a better kind of pain

i'm not writing your name
on the shower walls with blood
i'm not crying the clasped hold of the broken wrist
this isn't for you
it's for me

the only trust that lives is betrayal
and it's easy, it's pure
i'm not slipping out of your grasp
i'm not abanndonned
not forgotten
i am escaping
leaving you, someday empty

i'll always leave a trail of brokeness
a name scratched in my arm
you've been replaced
