I sit alone on this dark night
I watch the half moon make shadows with its light
I feel the rain heavy in the air
I wait for it, silent, without care
I feel the first drop as it tumbles down my cheek
and I wait for the others to start to streak
My warmth cools as they fall down,
though most of them hit ground
I stand there a solitary figure out in the rain
all alone, and no one sees my pain
When tomorrow comes and people see me again,
no one will notice my strain
Because I am nothing to them
Just another weathered statue
Watching, waiting
With unchanging face
Praying, protecting
Solitary in my grace

That was very good. I really felt your emotions. I've felt like that before, I'm sure most of us have. Great job capturing the moment and how you felt. I'm sorry you feel like that. |
