The Burning Spark

Contributed by evilfairy on Tuesday, 5th July 2005 @ 01:50:25 AM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Upon a cavernous heart and brittle bones
There are no more tears like a raging sea
Crashing upon a soul that is all alone

Tentative hope growing in a dry dry bed
No longer stretches its weak tendrils
Because hope is long dead

Fury has abated to a quiet whispered sound
And now she never ever screams
Not even when no-one else is around

Hurtful, wishful, wanting stands
To the back in dull, gloomy quiet
And no-one can remember their demands

And somewhere buried deep inside
Lived the glow of a burning spark
That over the years, paled, then died
