Blind Turn

Contributed by Vermilion on Monday, 4th July 2005 @ 04:13:54 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

We walk blindly
Because we never learn
No one understands
How it is to turn
To feel the inner pain
To feel like someone else
Human society is selfish
Cares only for itself
So turn around and see
Exactly what you do
With every broken smile
With every smile on cue
You lie to yourself
Lie to those around
Our eyes see only solid
As we fall to the ground

I just want to fall in love tonight
But I’m scared
You’re so complicated
This is overrated
But this feeling is love

We walk into slavery
Chained to our fates
Summer air reminds me
Of a moment at the gates
Love is just a trick
A single moment in time
Held together by two hearts
Tainted and sublime
But all we do
Is break ourselves in two
Do you know the pain?
Do you feel it, too?
I know we talked about it
But we always avoid
The real question inside
To fill the inner void

I just want to fall in love tonight
But I’m scared
You’re so complicated
This is overrated
But this feeling is love

Take me where I stand
You can’t understand
This feeling is love
I just want to fall in love tonight

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
