I Never Said Goodbye
Things like time keep passing
in silence go unseen.
I never get to say goodbye
as if they/'/ve never been.
Spring was here with buds in bloom
Summer watched them go.
Autumn came with colored leaves
Winter painted them with snow.
You too left, I know not where ...
No kiss or sweet embrace.
Just a poem that spoke of love
remembrance of your face.
Words were written long ago
the ink will fade with time
Syllables counted with A-B
for dance in perfect rhyme.
Somehow my two left feet had learned
to only dance with you.
I had placed my wayward foot
on top your polished shoe.
You guided me till lights were dim
we stooped out on the floor.
Music off ... you stepped away
I now see you no more.
