My Turn to Cry
You took the path never traveled
Everything you did was fresh and new
Oh dear Mr. Rogers Nelson
At 57, how can you be through
You wrote it and played it
Then you opened your doors and we felt it
You knew sound like the back of your hand
From the back of mom`s car raspberry beret, man
I look to you way up in the sky
At you and the doves up so high
Prince my man,
It`s my turn to cry
When it comes to music, I don`t know /*****/
But to my ear, you hit notes no man could hit
I don`t care what my neighbors say
In my heart, your groove, it will stay
What you had I can`t put into words
But it was yours, and yours alone
I hope you`ve released all your pain and rage
It kills me to say
You might be in a better place
I look to you way up in the sky
At you and the doves up so high
Prince my man,
It`s my turn to cry
