TEMPORARILY OUT OF CONTROL

Tonight I stepped over the edge
able to see and feel emotions from the other side
Now I understand the hurt, that people feel
and why they want to run and hide

Anger got the best of me
my emotions slid like a tectonic plate
I quivered and raged inside
with feelings that I hate

I exploded with reaction
instead of holding back from it all
Something is changing inside
my back is no longer against the wall

Tonight I felt something break
deep within my heart and soul
I was in a state of rage
and too far out of control

Incredible emotions
With somewhat lack of control
I almost opened the cage
to release a hurt and broken soul

My body was like a nuclear fuel rod
melting down to the core
Furious, outraged and overheated
I turned and walked out the door

Something truly eludes me
trying to break this person I am to be
I just want peace in mind
and to be in control of this person that is me
