Frail Old Man
Frail old man holding thoughts as well
as my strainer leaking noodles of
yesteryear to eat for the first time.
Fifty-two years soaking in my own brine
without that shooter to guide me-
now the meatball is here and I see
no more wisdom than what I found on my own,
muddling through marinara fields in search
of parmesan to sprinkle on this dish of my life.
