isn't some walled-up, beaten-down broken old bruise
you're passing through to the true 'this is you'
the shiny and new, solid-simple-sane you.

the coulda been dead you.
the fall into bed you.
the would-trade-not-a-scar-for-every-star-overhead you...

the back of the mind you.
the tip of the tongue you.
the need for the need when the need is for need you...

the wake up and grin you.
the luxury sin you.
the skin as it sighs against silken thighs sly you...

the always comes through you.
the gives all of you you.
the renewed simply by just being alive you.

the won't ever end you.
the realest pretend you.
the hypnotic sway gypsy mystery in gray you...

the questionless eye you.
the knows-what-you-know you.
the clearest of thoughts, when the answers compose you.
