Edit Poem

Editing Instructions

Please note in the NOTES textbox below that this poem has been edited, do not put your name, please put as the following:
<!--EDITED by moderators on (Date) for (reasons).-->
DO NOT remove the line break ( <br /> ) html coding at the end of each line break, these are needed to form the correct lines.
THE CHEATIf you do not wish to delete a poem, or a certain part of a poem, and instead would like to send the url to Mick via PM for confirmation, enclose the entire poem (or part/s thereof) between <!--    and     --> (ie. <!--    POEM TEXT HERE     -->). This will still save the text, but will make it invisible from viewing (other than page source view). You could also add before the <!-- something to the effect of "This Poem under review".

::one night of my life

::might need a name

feet upon the roof he is back again
this trouble making bandit of birds
hands exploring world and life again
looking for an in-

he happily gallops from end to end
sounding like one thousand horses
when he stops silence is deafening
broken window beckons-

next chimney calls him to explore, i
yell loudly, /'/no! no! no! naughty boy!/'/
i bang on walls and stomp my feet
his paws hesitate-

so far the bandit has not succeeded
except of 16 chickens only 2 remain
crowing comes from the guestroom
in temporary cage-

now raccoon is at his nightly impase
has tried unsuccessfully all his tricks
silently defeated, footfalls cross above
rain comes down softly.

::suspended animation

time has stopped as i wait for morning
wide awake..... there will be no sleeping
no internet, no tv.... satelites out again
just me, heidi dog, softly falling rain and
this vast unending nothingness of darkness
the forest
the only sound here is the deafening roar of
the computer/'/s motor, a million times louder
than normal
two sounds- like a train inside a waterfall
time sets back today, so one more hour of
torture
as much as i love the solitude of isolation
the freedom from humans, cities, and noises
all the animal life, countless trees, endless
sky
sometimes i feel alienated and far removed
from the world

@->>->--

this is exquisite
life
a masterful piece indeed
for we might only wonder
what those we leave behind will feel
how they will fare- hopefully our
words will keep our breath alive enough
to be remembered
for it is one thing to be kept
alive in a heart- quite another
to be loved long after the last living one who
loves you has perished...

love never dies a natural death

::amarillis

strong steadfast flower
graceful and so beautiful
eloquent, royal, so solitary
very good for at a funeral
why do you stand ever alone
holding your head high above
every one of the others
speaking volumes in your silence
remnants always left in one/'/s
memory of your quiet beauty

::morning breaks

birdsong begins once more
dark slowly replaced by light
first a soft unfocused gray
on this november first day
small spats of sky emerge
as i look upwards through
paper birch tree leaves
voices twitter and call
chirping a symphony

the dangers of night have
all long gone to their beds
yet this writer has not slept
one burning desire to express
as the birds do so
easily

::war on humanity

the war on humanity is ever present
killers finding new ways to torture
it is political, subversive and wrong
peaceful hippies go about their day
ignoring this whilst listening to life
seeing only the good upon the earth
world leaders lean towards socialism
killing freedom in the agenda/'/s process
as oceans are becoming more polluted
humans are thinking only of themselves
sign the petitions, protest, liberals
being offended is the new progress
forgotten are the enslaved in a quest
to encompass everyone, accept except
now conspiracy theorys by the killers
are taken and believed as the new truth

::swedish fish

there are many good things in life
none of which burst upon my pallet
right now besides these delighfully
chewy red candies!
mouth is full to bursting- bag empty
slowly they melt and bring memories
stuck in teeth, plucked out by finger
gone......................................................
washed away by wonderfully hot-
pumpkin spice latte coffee capachino
so satisfying, far more delightful
than anything else in the world!
plane jets overhead as cup runs dry
planes bring memories to one/'/s mind
traveling to other countries- wow!
sights, scents, tastes, textures
cultures, adventure, differences
nothing finer or more fun ever!
until one tiredly comes home and
rediscovers the circle of life-
finding one lone swedish fish.
