I don't like the word please I don't like the word "please"
It makes me feel so bad
It makes me think of childhood
When every day was sad...

I remember Father's face,
tears flowing silently,
as he whispered on the phone
"please don't fire me..."

I remember sister's eyes
when our father died,
leaving us two all alone
to beg and plead for life...

I remember reaching out my hands
and begging shamelessly
from people I had never met
and from people who knew me...

I remember sister's screams
piercing through her bedroom door
as she pleaded breathlessly
"please...oh please no more!"

I don't like the word "please"
Avoid it while you can!
For when you're forced to use it
Only then you'll understand...
