We picked mushrooms
We picked mushrooms
Five years since i last saw my man
he came for the wedding that was the plan
he stayed for a week oh joyous and great
and then we went and climbed the gate
up to feed the horses and see they were ok
and take them some barrow loads of hay
the mushrooms were growing their heads all white
my man was amazed i could see his delight
Never before had he had the joy and fun
of picking field mushrooms my he did run
A bundle of mushrooms were collected that day
To cook with our bacon, delicious i can say
But the greatest thing for me by far
was the pleasure it gave to my mr magar
we strolled down the hill not to be late
and we reached the bottom and climbed the gate
