MY Morning Joy
For any soul of goal each day brings
new promise...the trill and ring of life's bell-
opening to a new package only the sun's rise
imparts with lights swell.
As is my norm; the sun yet to toddle whispered steps
on eager eyes crusted free of dreamy stated detritus;
but my day, my joy comes not in coffee hot,
but the 'tap titta tap tap' on my office wall-
I jump with lighted eyes in quick reply,
'tap-tap'!
And with that, my wife free from clutched dreams;
my joy, simple, now complete.
