Please note in the NOTES textbox below that this poem has been edited, do not put your name, please put as the following:
<!--EDITED by moderators on (Date) for (reasons).-->
DO NOT remove the line break ( <br /> ) html coding at the end of each line break, these are needed to form the correct lines.
THE CHEATIf you do not wish to delete a poem, or a certain part of a poem, and instead would like to send the url to Mick via PM for confirmation, enclose the entire poem (or part/s thereof) between <!--    and     --> (ie. <!--    POEM TEXT HERE     -->). This will still save the text, but will make it invisible from viewing (other than page source view). You could also add before the <!-- something to the effect of "This Poem under review".

Vet Bill Too High Vet Bill Too High

A Lady went to see her Vet.
She brought her dog along.
She said, “Can you please check him out?
I fear there's something wrong.

He seems to be quite sick she said,
He will not eat or drink.
Please check him over carefully,
And tell me what you think.”

The Vet got out his stethoscope,
And listened to it's heart,
He said, “I have some real bad news..
I'm not where where to start.

Let me break it to you gently,
Your little dog is dead.”
The Lady said, “I don't agree,
He's just asleep instead.”

The Vet said, “Madam, I am quite sure,
Your dog is stone cold dead.”
“Well can't you check him out some more?”
Was all the Lady said.

The Vet said, “Fine, if you insist,
I'll bring my Black Lab here,
Now if you watch him carefully,
The truth will be quite clear.”

The Black Lab came into the room.
He sniffed and walked away.
The Vet asked, “Are you satisfied?”
He heard the Lady say,

“How can you be so very sure?
You can not tell like that.”
The Vet said, “OK, one more test.”
He brought a pussy cat.
The cat just sniffed and walked away.
The Vet said, “Now you know,
I'm sorry it's not better news,
But now I have to go.”

He then made out a bill for her,
Two hundred twenty five.
The lady said, “Why is it so high,
When my dog's not alive?”

The Vet said, “Normally my bill,
Would not be quite so high,
But the Lab report and Cat Scan,
Explain the reason why.”

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
