Ground of Burning Coals
Churning fires of passion
Rage ever onward
Carrying the imaginative visual stimulations
Of infinite dreams, ideas, and beautiful visions
I see a pale-skinned hairless angel
With pavement wings
Soaring towards the sky
While worldly chains seek to drag her down
She has a showing of anguish
A bit of pain in which she endures
The chains press into her skin
But she intends to break free of that man-made bind
She's already gone a mile
And has many more to go
When will she reach the heavens?
No one will ever know
But her resolve does not falter
She attempts her bleak-seemed goal
I see this feat with my naked eyes
And plan to do the same myself
To leave the dirt of melting tar
And ground of burning coals
