Scissors and Scotch Tape
Scissors And Scotch Tape
With some scissors and some scotch tape,
Some crayons and some glue,
There were no limits in my mind,
When I was in grade two.
The greeting cards that I would make,
To me were just the best.
As if I had a magic touch,
By Angels I was blessed.
I glued the beard on Santa Clause,
Red nose on Rudolph too.
Everything that I created
Were things I loved to do.
I cut strips of coloured paper,
As happy as could be,
Then made them into great long chains,
To hang upon the tree.
Some Christmas cards with pretty lights,
All hanging in a row.
Baby Jesus in a manger.
I even made it snow.
I made up lots of Valentines,
With hearts of brightest red,
And in the night I dreamed up more,
While laying in my bed.
Then I made the Easter Bunny,
With coloured eggs to hide,
And I made a Easter basket,
With my name on the side.
A pumpkin with a smiling face,
Some Witches and black Cats.
With spooks and ghosts and skeletons,
Some Spiders and some Bats.
Yes, way back in my younger days,
So much left yet to learn.
To celebrate each season then,
I sure did take my turn.
With scissors and with scotch tape,
A world was made for me.
And all these things I loved the most,
Helped keep my spirit free.
