Fractured Lucidity
I slept through a dream
When I awoke
I took a ride
Down to the stream
Far from home
Close to my house
There is a swamp
Where the bigfoot roam
I then pondered as I drove by a little red barn
Why does my dog have a tail
When it spins
No yarn
More confused than ever
I asked myself
This below
If I know
The unknown
Why am I
All alone
I came upon a crossing guard
He asked me what I was going to play
I told him Michael Bublé
He said turn it off and be on your way
A strange man waved me over on the very same day
Elvis had drowned he said with a sorrowful frown
Sitting on his throne
Washing his hair in a bidet
As I drove through
A covered bridge
Red graffiti on the wall proclaimed
Led Zep is dead
With much sadness I went to a park
Stood inline for a ride
Written in crayon on the wall for all to see
It said the Go-Go's were number one
In New Jersey
I sampled a buffet on the way
Ate like a pig
For more than a day
I grew further depressed
As the sun shined through
A rather beautiful blue sky of gray
I reflected until it gave me pause
Time stood still
Must have been an hour
Or a moment or two
On my way home
To a house I do not own
The moon blinded me
As I rode all alone
I walked up to my house
Opened a familiar door
I had never seen before
I stood and wondered
Where have I been
Was it the beginning
Or just the end
When I get home
To where I live
I'll tell the story over and over
Once again
