Long Lonely Time
Hell it has been a long lonely time
A long old lonely old time
With a long hard longing for
Whatever happened to the poet faces anyway
Who penned the ranch songs
And constructed the ranch canon in their day
Whatever happened to Flip Driscoll then
When the poems flowed like new ranch when
And the air smelled of old leaves and
And the words ventured from Flips mind stream then
Into and out of the viaducts of our ranch dreams
