Country Magic
I used to visit an old fence post
Back down in that bottom, you see!
And by the looks of that old fence post
I could tell he was wiser than me
Some say he is an old cedar
And some say his an old Oak
But I new he was an old Bodark
Just by the grown in this throat
He stood next to a creek line
That snaked with the ran in the spring
But the snake never came near him
Because of the song that he sang
The song he sang to the creek snake
He said was much older than him
And could only be sang by nature
And never by mortal men
He said man can never be trusted
With such a simple tasks as this
He will always want to use it
To hold power clenched in his fist
He would take all the magic from nature
And strip the world of all its gold
And by the time he was finished
Man would have nothing to hold
