Poison Ivy
Feelings constantly swirling,
unbroken, endless growing,
like ivy, full of poison and contempt.
Venom slowly drips down the leaves,
black and dead,
full of hatred and deep despair.
No matter how many times you remove a inch
from the mangled tangle of interweaving vines,
another foot shoots upward.
These vines have already swallowed so much of your life,
and they just continue to engulf everything they can reach.
They continue dripping their corruption onto everything they possibly can.
And soon, these vines of hate, pain, and suffering,
will show their true colors.
You have tried to keep them in their place,
upon the ground, were they belong,
but time and time again yo fail.
You wish they would shrivel and die, but instead they flourish.
The harder you try to lock them away,
the faster they grow.
And soon they will break free and cover you,
in a vise so tight, there will be no way to break free.
the thorns will pierce your skin,
letting the venom sink into your being,
and you, yourself will become the ivy for evermore.
