Us, Brothers
His inspiration is wrong,
But who am I in this song?
I'm the disenchanting verse,
His daughter rides the hearse.
I want him to know,
He’s got more here to show,
If he can’t see hear the sound,
We’re both lost, none found.
He’s more than just him,
Upon his family, he sins.
I think for more than just me,
I've struggled without word for years.
Sadness always creeps in,
My resolution is wearing thin,
But he doesn't know,
The pain I too refuse to show.
Ambition's the past,
Once at first, now we’re last.
We sing along but we know,
We've got little to show.
She will look for more,
And though her face you adore.
You'll never be content,
Because she wasn't meant.
That sadness again,
Your life is now, and not then.
It's got more pieces and bits,
Than a shallow life permits.
His struggle so obvious,
Our parents oblivious.
We both have the gene,
But who brought the noose to this scene?
