Chalkboard Fingernails Reconnect me to something I never knew

Once I find the light

It will guide me back to you

I feel safe in the night

Darkness obstructs my view

When the moment feels right

And the world spins tight

Incapacitated,

I am revived

I am someone who

Has become himself

Despite your apathy

The agony

Knowing too much

And never enough

You called me

Your true love

I embraced your words

Now

Give me a hug

I empathize

With those who cannot see

With whom should I walk?

I talk

In circles

To myself

I scream

At bare walls

In hopes

Of releasing

Some sort of smoke

I am

An everlasting joke

Laugh if you will

Repudiate me still

My claim to pain

A desire to regain

All that was stolen

As I slept

As I wept

As I kept

In my head

That night

We kissed in the rain
