The Soldier
It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us Freedom of the press,
The right to ask questions without fear of death,
It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us Freedom of speech,
The right to speak our mind without the fear of being beat,
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the Freedom to demonstrate,
The right to join together in peace and within that, "Hope" we create,
It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial,
The right to due process and allow justice to prevail,
It is the soldier, not the politician, who defends the Constitution,
Fights for the rights bought forth by the our Four Fathers,
It is the soldier, not the athlete, that instills courage and commitment,
A sense of pride, and true meaning of self-sacrifice,
It is the soldier, who salutes the Flag,
Who serves under the Flag,
Whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the Flag.
Forever Faithful
The Phantom
