One Day
One day, I sat on the bench of a park and allowed the wind to remind me of a time where you and I were so beautiful. My eyes slowly closed and I could almost feel his cold fingers as he clutched my hand once more. He was a bird and I was the girl with dreams of flying. He wanted to give me everything I ever desired and then glare at my eyes widening, feel my lips opening and listen to the impatience of my heart. I knew he wouldn’t abandon me without the promise of tomorrow but I sat alone in the park, yet, I sat alone in the park. Afraid of every memory abandoning me, I held on tight to the wind that reminded me that he would come again someday and someday would be when I was ready again. Love. He, like Love promises and breaks them just as often as he says he’ll call but he just shows up unannounced like Love.
