Tiger in Woods [Tiger series - poem 2]
Spring by spring this irreverent sapling
Branches out - oulos growing into a bristling bold
Like a scion of Aeneas - julian-ja goes sky grappling
Leaving June in her swoon, for August’s laurel crown
Mauling the earth with an Alexandrian fire the cold
Sometimes a sly smile or sardonic frown
Curls the branches and whistles wolf the wind's hoot
Gentle mangling to claw down deeper dark root
Learning the ropes from the metaphorical snakes
Welcome to the jungle - making no mistakes
Paws plant…pause and plant
This tiger is not a lily but a trunk triumphant
And the stream flows by with a contented sigh
Knows this swimmer will never low sink
Will leap with the sap from Soma drink
Breaking free from paths too narrow
To strike the sky like a gold black arrow!
