~When winter talked~
I heard her talk to me
harsh voiced
then soft whispers.
Her chatter made no sense
her mood cast a shadow
a shadow that stilled my heart.
I felt her, and I melted
turned inside out
then froze just like her
solid and crystal
turned gray-blue
then melted again
into a reflective puddle.
The wind blew
and caused the reflection to ripple
and I could see,
moments of calm before the storms
mood cast,shadows falling
daylight fading into night.
It is in the stillness of the eve
blue-black conversation
just above a wind whisper
silenced the heart for a moment
and I spoke
when winter talked.
