This Hug Watching the day turn to night
As we drive to meet your flight
Many thoughts cloud my brain
Thankful we get to begin again

Strain to see your smiling face
Running to lead the hugging race
In our arms, the years fall away
This hug is all we needed to say

Whatever the past held is gone
There is no more right or wrong
Two hearts meld to one bright light
The future ahead is shining bright

I know what the doctors told you
That there is not much left to do
But I know that God has given us
This time to spend in loving trust

Always know that I'm here forever
Supporting your every life endeavor
You've so much left to see and give
Your life is yours, so go and live

May your days be filled with wonder
May your nights be a peaceful slumber
May your soul know God's sweet touch
Always know, I love you very much
