Oceanic Desire
When the tides draw close, I fear not,
For the sea is what my heart so wants.
To the depths of the ocean I’m hastily brought,
And no more do I want; - this is what I sought.
For each step I draw; each foot I step,
I draw closer to awe, no more need I prep.
For I’ve reached my desire; my goal; my aim,
No more need I worry, about what was shame.
For it lies in the past, in the future I dwell,
Lying far out, at last, deep in the swell.
As I recall my thoughts, my memories, my woes,
I take one last breath, to the bottom I go,
The farther I swim, the further I fall;
The future looks grim but the weather feels warm.
Deep down I inhale, I’m breathing in death,
Closer I come to my very last breath,
I’m drifting away, and further I fall,
I’m drifting away, no more need I bawl.
