As I Look At Her
My mother is no stranger
but yet a stranger she seems to be
As I sit and look at her
and she looks back at me
As I speak to her she stares at me
wondering what it is that I say
I can’t imagine living her life now
that she lives each and every day
I love my mother
with all the love in my heart
It hurts to see her the way she is
tears swell in my eyes as I realize this world she soon will part
We all get older
and eventually we all will die
Pardon me for a moment
I need to wipe a tear from my eye
It burdens my heart
to see my mother in her state of mind
So difficult to see her like this
in my head I search for many good memories to find
Dear mother I love you
but sadness overwhelms my sense of joy
Just know I am by your side
the one who used to be your blond haired little boy
I know you can’t hear me
but you still see me with your eyes
You know who I am
each and every time we say our hellos and goodbye’s
Mom, I am so sorry
you are where you are
You have always been my number one
always my shining star
If you love someone, let them know before it’s too late!
