Waiting for the best day ever...
Standing here hand in hand
Looking deep into your eyes
Trying not to break down
Trying hard not to cry
You have your hair pulled back
A glow upon your face
I’m held here in a trance
By your angelic grace
You wear such a lovely dress
I can’t seem find the words to say
To tell you you’re so beautiful
And how You’ve taken my breath away
Holding on to one hand
Gazing upon my lover…
Standing here with my best friend
She'll be holding onto the other…
You look up at me so happily
With tears forming in your eyes
I know we’ve both been waiting
For this moment all our lives…
As we recite our vows
I'm trying so hard all the while
Staring deep into your eyes...
Oh how I love to see you smile
Our friends there watching us
Will make us both so proud
As “I pronounce you man and wife”
Will finally be spoken aloud!
For years we’d both been waiting
Anxious just for this…
As we both lean in
To share in our first kiss…
As Mr. and Mrs. Dodgen
Now as husband and wife
Thus begins a new day
To the rest of “our” life
There will be tears, hugs and handshakes
From the family present there
With us on our special day
There with us to share…
And as we both promise our lives
And swear to each other “forever”…
I wouldn’t change a thing
In this, the best day ever…
