The Cold End of the Spoon, or The Rhyme of the Ancient Prude

Contributed by spike on Friday, 7th October 2005 @ 08:44:57 AM in AEST
Topic: Suggestive

Single white male, Western pride,
Libidinal energy locked inside
‘When urges arise, count to 10’
Oops, did I say “sex” again?

Mom and Dad set the tone,
Never touch yourself when left alone
“Don’t spill your seed on dusty plain”
Damn, did I say “fuck” again?

All that repression has its price,
A slip of the tongue, a harmless vice
Freudian gaffes and psychic pain
(Golly, I just thought “sex” again)

Darkest lust, quiet despairs,
No relief for the man downstairs
Scarred for life, is this the end?
Crap, I just said “pussy” again.

Funny how our upbringing can screw us up for life - well not funny really - more like sad. My mother told me sex was bad - ummmmm she lied. hahahahaha

This poem has a little beat to it as I read it -almost like rap. I didn't know you could say the F word on this site? Interesting.

Spike, I only noticed today, that you had posted in the premium section.
And holy CRAP!! What a piece (no pun intended) to post!

I love how candid and REAL this is. My parents left me to figure things
out on my own. Back then, I suppose, it was easier to just say
nothing than to die of embarrassment. Nowadays, death can occur
from NOT opening up with your children. (Though it can still be
a bit uncomfortable to talk about).

Thing is, human nature is instinctive and to propagate the species
we are INBRED to think a certain way, you know? Besides, it's
one of the few TRULY enjoyable things left on earth.

Kudos poet. Very well done write!

Something coming your way soon ..

~ Breezy
