The Jaws Poem

Jaws, a shark past twenty feet,
A monstrous beast beyond belief
With beady eyes and mouth replete
With wicked, razor-pointed teeth.
When I was young, it made me fear
Even bath time’s splashing sounds,
For when I’d close my eyes, I’d hear
That string-sequence enclose around
My ears and mind, with creeping fin
And surely then I would be caught
As blood would then be mixed within
The water where I’d splash a lot
And scream and shriek for help from shark
As legless in imagination,
I would be stranded in the dark,
Imperiled in this situation . . .
Ah. Movies . . . they can scare you so,
When you’re just a kid of six
But back then it was fun to know
That sharks and cables do not mix –
I leaped through air, with clenching fist
As shark meat smithereened through skies
And Mr. Schneider, I’d have kissed
If t.v.’s could be as life size
As bring the characters within,
Into my living room for real.
Then I’d grab old jaws’ fin
And shark-fin soup’d be my meal . . .

This is a treat!
Oh - you should insert an audio clip in this one! Frankly, I didn't need it though... I heard it anyway. And I saw that 6 year old boy, eyes wide, in front of the tele.
The stupid flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz got me,
