False echo of premature words, sentinels of commitment
Astounding the senses so used to counterfeit meanings
Laying down ground rules then changing our minds
Proceeding without regard to consequence
Harsh penalties await the losers
But we are blind and stupid and cannot see
Or do not care to admit our folly is on a grand scale
Caught up in the heat of the moment
Our need wrestles with jeopardy
Lighting torches in the dark, reflection
In each other’s eyes we see us
Grandeur sweetens every touch
Enthralled emotions set fire to desires
Dry with wanting so much more than what we get
Taste of kisses, warmth of flesh
We are melded into a new creature of love
In silence we exist, pure and perfect form
Cast in quiet conversations bliss
