_______________
Rough as the streets he lives on
Wanders day and night alone
Philosopher in a ragged coat
He charms his way into the soul
Steel trap memory he sets
To catch you by the tongue
As you trip over your own words
Trying to outwit and outrun
This streetwise truth-seeker
Knows what hard times are about
And with his cat, Calamity
They wink and blink and nod
An in the twitch of a whisker
They are gone
