Sun creeps across the floor into my bed
Wake up sleepy head, rise and shine
I do not want to open my eyes
I don’t want to see what I’ve become
Faceless, nameless - so invisible
Fractions click against my skull
Hours, days and years add up
Too fast and furious to calculate
The losses so painfully articulate
What measure I take of humankind
Always passion too far away
Disdain for everything mundane
I find myself clinging to ideals
Excitement builds its flashy smile
Long outdated dreams surreal
Boxes full of who I was, read the pages one by one
Savoring each and every word
Until the sun begins to fade
Twilight ‘s confusing shades express contempt
For tears unshed, so I let go in shadows deep
Violet tears to cleanse the soul exempt
Validate me as I am

Some of these lines hit me like bullets. The hours, days, spent in quivering anxiety and, in glorious hindsight, so fitfully wasted. Nough said. You have touched me deeply once more. Some place I thought no one else had ever been.
