Where You Are

Sitting on a pier
Lost inside the stars,
And I’m wondering where you are.
Sitting by a pool
Watching children play,
And I’m wondering how you are.
I miss you still,
Even though it's been too long
I hope you still smile
Whenever you hear our song.
Trying to fall asleep
Crickets chirping outside,
And I’m wondering where you’ve been.
Making supper
With tears on my cheeks,
And I’m wondering how you’ve been.
I might not ever
See your face again,
But I know our bond won’t break.
Or can friends be friends,
When memories evaporate?
Sitting by a fire
Roasting food and laughing,
And I’m wondering where you’ll be.
Sewing pieces together
Cutting fabric memories,
And I’m wondering what you’ll be.
But more than anything,
I’m wondering if I will ever know
