A Relationship In-Between
I looked for you today.
I thought I would see.
I glanced over my shoulder.
I peered through the trees.
I rehearsed in my head.
I recited the words.
How would I react?
With fear or with courage?
But you stayed away.
A hole in my heart.
What did I expect?
When did this start?
A moment in time.
A dream does deceive.
The outcome unfaithful.
To what I conceived.
You pass like the breeze.
You set like the sun.
Silent and beautiful.
Love on the run.
Why can/'/t I change?
What/'/s happened to me?
Fate a cold teacher.
Offering no reprieve.
The lesson I/'/ve learned?
Ignorance is bliss.
Having not met you.
What would I miss?
For missing you is painful.
No remedy, no cure.
No instant relief.
For pain I endure.
I did this myself.
I/'/m only to blame.
What would I change?
Are you worth refrain?
Pretend I must.
That you do not exist.
No public exchange.
Affection or kiss.
Lurking in shadow
Silent and cold
A relationship undeveloped
Lives on hold
Two right ones met.
Left feeling wrong.
Perhaps another time?
We must be strong.
I/'/ll lean on you.
You/'/ll lean on me.
Together we/'/ll fight
For what we believe.
At the end of the road.
I hope that we find.
An everlasting love.
The fairy book kind.
If it/'/s not meant to be.
Know that you/'/re worth.
Every teardrop that falls.
My angel on Earth.
