is it the New Year already?

what happened to the last?
a year ago the future;
a day, now it’s the past.

a little bit of yesterday,
the same ol’ same old lines;
a good portion of uncertainty,
to birth uncertain times.

last year now a remembrance,
the future, hard to tell;
only that, for some of us,
it will join the past as well.
