Desertus
As I stand upon these foreign shores, I try and seek my true north only to stumble madly, for I have lost my bearings and now forfeited and lead astray I know not what to do?
Do I surrender her, leave her to the whirlwinds of fate or do I stay my course and brave the tempest that is ahead?
Am I made of such steel? Do I dare question the might of my arms in which to hold her? Or the fortitude of my will? Or will these vehement forces within me tear me asunder; who is to know?
To have known her, to have had her in your life is to have been blessed with the freedom of the winds, her smile alone would ease my pains and suffering. Her beryl eyes would enchant you leaving the world of strife and misery behind to enter one of bliss and serenity. To touch her face was the same as touching the very heavens where cherubs laid, the curves of her mouth; her parted lips, enticing, cherishing, all so consuming that I would fall under this charm and lose all perspective of my surroundings. She held me in such fervor that words themselves would fail to describe the spell she held.
Alone now my eyes chase shadows, emptiness creeping within chasms of my mind, I sit in solitude the passing of time my only reward, cloaked in darkness my tears run freely forming below me unto rivers and here I lie. I had found A love so profound I would vanguard it with my life, A connection made in moments where seconds came as years. I held her under stars and kissed her gently, madly and deeply. I had found the one person who would forgive me, bless me and love me against all my sins and transgressions and thinking selfishly I held her to myself, wanting only her love to end my anguish. To protect her from all the dregs of this world, to ensure she lived and loved freely; I will not deny my selfishness nor rebuke the charges of passion.
I know what I have become, A fiend of ardor A monstrosity spawned from love. Now relinquished holding only the fragments of my heart I know now there is no harbor for me, my life will be vexed by winds and troubles but even against the tides I pray, pray to God to keep my love safe, Amen.
