The King of Tides

The king of tides
The tides are rolling in and out,
Smashing against the rocks,
Mocking our fruitless talk,
Growing silent we need no trumpet,
Hand in hand through the sand we walk,
The breeze whispers something triumphant,
Something I could never say in a million words,
Something rises in my soul, feelings smash and roll,
In every direction,
Flooding every cell receptor,
Just when it feels like everything is handled,
Feelings are pulled away,
A soul left stranded,
Seemingly, eternally, branded,
By the pull of the great collector,
As the moon sparks a reflection,
I trust my feelings too much,
Which is dangerous and obsessive,
But like the tides I roll on regardless,
No matter how many rocks I must erode, no matter how many walls I must tear down,
In the process,
For the king of tides is calling.
